The fashion on the 2012 Emmy Awards red carpet was thrilling. Bright colours like Ginnifer Goodwin’s sheer strapless red Monique Lhuillier gown was one of the biggest hits of the night.

There were also many shades of blue – royal, navy, plum and Sofia Vergara’s turquoise beaded dress by Zuhair Murad.

A surprise for fall was bright sunshine colours (even “tangerine tango,” Pantome’s color of the year) with Claire Danes in a yellow strapless Lanvin dress.  Leslie Mann also looked great in a bare, beaded halter gown with orange ballskirt by Naeem Khan.

This year bold colour seemed to be where risks were taken and the dresses looked great, there were no major fashion faux pas this year. If anything, some celebrities played safe.
